Public Participation Policy
The Board of Trustees of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library (Board) welcomes public input in its deliberations. The Board further recognizes both the importance of public comment on issues before the Board and the ability of members of the community to express their views on matters of interest to the library.
Wireless Access Policy
The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will provide free, wireless Internet access for users with portable computers or devices capable of receiving wireless signals, during normal library business hours. The library’s wireless infrastructure uses 802.11n and 802.11ac protocols as its wireless network standards, transmitting in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio frequency spectrums, with the intention of delivering speeds of up to 35 Mbps to mobile and wireless devices within range.
Tween Interest Group
Tween Interest Group (TWIG) is a volunteer program for kids who can volunteer 2 hours a month. The group is open to kids in grades 4 through 6.
Youth Advisory Board
The Youth Advisory Board is Findlay-Hancock County Public Library's volunteer group for teens in grades 7 through 12. YAB strives to involve teens in their library and their library space. YAB allows teens the opportunity to gain work experience by learning and completing tasks that they are trained for and feel comfortable doing.
Video Surveillance Policy
The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library encourages and supports lifelong reading, viewing and listening in the pursuit of knowledge and joy. To ensure a safe environment for such pursuits, the library may use video surveillance in areas including those of public use, parking lots and grounds. Video surveillance will be used within the following guidelines:
