Eat Well/Live Well: Let Them Eat Cake

Jennifer Little, OSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Educator presents monthly Eat Well/Live Well programming. Her upcoming series of programs will feature globally inspired home cooking topics. In celebration of the CommunityREAD, the March Eat Well/Live Well
program will explore the common history of cake in various cultures around the world and explain how this favorite dessert can fit into a healthy meal plan. Participants will see and sample some cake-like foods served around the world and receive recipes to try at home.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offering free tax preparation services for individuals who live in Hancock County and whose household income is $60,000 or less annually. You must call 567-250-1955 to schedule an appointment, as appointments are required. They will begin accepting phone calls for appointments starting January 17.

Join us for art, science, and engineering projects in our makerspace for kids. This month, we will be using LEGOs, Keva Planks, and more to build our own islands. These activities are inspired by our 2023 YouthREAD books, "High and Dry" by Eric Walters and "Caterpillar Summer" by Gillian McDunn. Children 8 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
