Whether exploring the vast open sea or the far reaches of space, the possibilities for adventure are endless! Program participates will look at these two areas of exploration and deep dive into the similarities and differences between them. Participants will look at the necessary tools and resources needed to explore these harsh otherworldly environments like protective suits and oxygen.
This program is for grades PreK 6. This program is presented by the Armstrong Air & Space Museum and is sponsored by the Friends of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library.

We invite you join us virtually for an invigorating discourse of scholarship and cultural history with Dr. Marcia Chatelain as she discusses her Pulitzer prize-winning book, Franchise: The Golden Arches in Black America. Dr. Chatelain, a highly accomplished professor and scholar of African American life and culture, is a frequent public speaker with expertise in food justice, race and ethnicity, and Urban Policy and consults for many media outlets including, The Atlantic, C-Span, MSNBC, CNN, and BBC America.

Reading with Gibbs

Need help building reading confidence? Or do you love reading as much as you love dogs? Beginning readers and students in kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to drop in for reading practice with Gibbs, a licensed therapy dog, at the library each week. Participants will receive one-on-one time with Gibbs and his trainer as a way to work on reading strength and confidence while enjoying the company of a furry friend.

What is a fossil? How are fossils formed? What can scientists learn about the past by studying them? Learn the answers to these questions and more.

This program is being hosted by the Oakwoods Nature Preserve at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, Findlay, Ohio at the the Richard S. "Doc" Phillips Discovery Center.

Grades 2-6 with an Adult Caregiver. Please register ALL children and adults separately.
