Before each session, participants are asked to read a themed book and bring it with them to the meeting.

Reading with Gibbs

Need help building reading confidence? Or do you love reading as much as you love dogs? Beginning readers and students in kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to drop in for reading practice with Gibbs, a licensed therapy dog, at the library each week. Participants will receive one-on-one time with Gibbs and his trainer as a way to work on reading strength and confidence while enjoying the company of a furry friend.

Drawing Club: Ocean Scene

Do you love to draw? Join us for monthly drawing activities, and hang out with other young artists. This month, we will be experimenting with watercolor, learning how to mix drawings with watercolor paints, and following a tutorial to draw and paint an ocean scene.

Grades 2 and up.

Children will be seated together by household, and you only need to register once per household.

Read for Life will be offering a tutor training class! Potential adult volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and are asked to commit to one year or more of volunteering. Volunteers must be literate, however, no professional training or education is required. Read for Life is looking for volunteers to teach reading, writing, English, life skills and subject areas of the High School Equivalency including math, social studies, and science. Registration is required by calling 419-422-3755 or e-mailing readforlife@findlaylibrary.org.
