Adaptive Storytime

Join us for Adaptive Storytime at the library, a space to foster the early literacy skills of children with neurodiverse symptoms and children who have difficulty engaging during traditional storytimes. We will sing, rhyme, read, and play together with more interactive opportunities. Children with varying learning styles and abilities can learn together in a safe, supportive environment where respect and appreciation for differences is encouraged. Content is geared toward ages 3 - 7 years, but all ages are welcome, accompanied by a caregiver. Siblings are welcome, too.

Join us for Storytime at the library. We will sing, rhyme, read, and craft together. Your child will have so much fun they might not even realize they are learning important skills for future reading! This program is for children and their caregivers.

Do you need volunteer hours for school? Are you looking for a way to help out your community? Would you like to meet other teens in the areas? Students in grades 7-12 are invited to come to the library for an hour of volunteering fun! Potential projects may include: prepping craft kits (cutting, sorting, assembling, etc.), cleaning books and shelves, organizing materials, and completing other projects for the library. No registration is necessary and you are welcome to drop in for part of the time if you cant stay the full hour!

New Perspectives: A Living Library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library has partnered with the University of Findlay, University of Findlays Mazza Museum, University of Findlay's Phi Alpha Honor Society, and the University of Findlay's Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society to bring New Perspectives: A Living Library to the Mazza Museum on October 17, 2023 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Speak Easy: An English as a Second Language Conversation Club is designed to connect new members of Hancock County with community organizations. Each meeting will have a different theme and students will get the chance to meet representatives from social services agencies as well as practice English skills.
