Drawing Club: Field Journal

Do you love to draw? Join us for drawing tutorials and hang out with other young artists. This month, we will be making field journals and learning how to draw local animals. We will be joined by the Hancock Park District to learn more about these animals. Recommended for grades 2 and up. Space is limited and registration is required. This activity was inspired by our 2023 YouthREAD book The Line Tender by Kate Allen. Children 8 and under should be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Do you enjoy writing? Then, pick up one of our Teen Creative Writing Packets! Packets include creative writing activities inspired by this years high school YouthREAD book, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. Packets will be available to pick up at the Main Library in the Teen Department, as well as the Arlington Branch and Bookmobile starting Wednesday, March 1st. While supplies last.

Vita Tax Assistance Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offering free tax preparation services for individuals who live in Hancock County and whose household income is $60,000 or less annually. You must call 567-250-1955 to schedule an appointment, as appointments are required. They will begin accepting phone calls for appointments starting January 17.

Baby Storytime

Join us for Baby Storytime at the library. We will sing, rhyme, read, and have fun with scarves and bells! This program is suggested for children up to 36 months of age with a caregiver. Older siblings are welcome, too.
