Did You Know?

Did you know that the library offers Skill Builder books for every stage of school and life—from college entrance exams such as the SAT, ACT, and GRE, to professional exams like the ASVAB, Firefighter Exam, Commercial Driver License, and Nursing Assistant Exams. If you are thinking about choosing a new career, there are resume books to assist you.

Farm Fun Program

Children ages 2-8 years old and their caregivers are invited to join Farm Fun on the first Tuesday evening of the month from 7:30-8:00 p.m. October 2 through April 2.

Children will listen to stories, sing songs and complete activities that focus on agriculture and farming.    Presented in partnership with the University of Findlay’s Block and Bridle Club.  Students of the Block and Bridle Club constructed a bookcase “barn” and donated books relating to agriculture and farming for the library.  The bookcase and books were made possible through an ECLIPSe grant provided by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.

Community Read Book Selected

 The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library has announced the selection of The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh as 2013 CommunityREAD book. Ms. Diffenbaugh will visit Hancock County on March 15th during CommunityREAD month for a public presentation at 7 p.m. at Winebrenner Auditorium.
   The book, Diffenbaugh’s first novel, creates a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others as she struggles to overcome her difficult youth in the foster care system and adult homelessness. Copies are available at the public library.
